There were differing trends arising from COVID-19 in the watches category in 2020. Basic and mid watches were not as affected during Q1, but high mechanical watches, demand for which has a high reliance on inbound tourist arrivals, were more affected. Although the impact was not as severe as for duty-free shops, there were some negative factors during Q1. With the virus being controlled from Q2, and delayed weddings to be held in Q3 and Q4, local demand is set to rise over this period, however.
