Abstract

Research Methodology

Considerable research was done using the Internet. Information from various Web sites was studied and analyzed; evaluation of publicly available marketing and technical publications was conducted. Telephone conversations and interviews were held with industry analysts, technical experts and executives. In addition to these interviews and primary research, secondary sources were used to develop a more complete mosaic of the market landscape, including industry and trade publications, conferences and seminars.

The overriding objective throughout the work has been to provide valid and relevant information. This has led to a continual review and update of the information content.

Target Audience

This report is intended for organizations involved in the development of PSC; as well as for companies that are working in the area of advanced commercial digital LMR networks design and implementation. Engineers, management and sales departments will find in this report useful information that can be applied to their work. Report also addresses the needs of managers and technical staff of various public safety organizations.

Brief

The report updates and revises previous Practel reports (published in 2008-2011) on the development of TETRA radio markets. The TETRA technology is prevailing in Public Safety Communications (PSC) and found diversified commercial applications as well.

The report provides the results of the TETRA radio Potential Market (PM) analysis performed by Practel. The PM analysis allows to assess essential market characteristics and to present them in convenient formats. Though the PM analysis may lack some specifics, it allows estimating the upper boundaries of the market size and provides guidance to both TETRA users and vendors. All major geographical segments of the TETRA market have been addressed in the report.
