Berge Ayvazian, Yankee Group

WiMAX networks provide a unique opportunity to provide reinvent home networking around the integration of mobile and broadband services in and around the subscriber’s home. WiMAX femtocells can provide IP broadband connectivity and backhaul to the home, simplify provisioning, and further reducing the expense of deploying and operating a wireless network infrastructure. Recent discussions reveal that WiMAX femtocells can be even more strategic when deployed by cable broadband providers investing in the Clearwire network. This session explores the role of femtocells in a homogenous end-to-end WiMAX network architecture network infrastructure that can leverage uniform management, security, QoS, provisioning, and billing.
