会议主轴 :
WiMAX的生态系统
会议主持人: Berge Ayvazian, Yankee Group

WiMAX networks provide a unique opportunity to provide reinvent home networking around the integration of mobile and broadband services in and around the subscriber’s home. WiMAX femtocells can provide IP broadband connectivity and backhaul to the home, simplify provisioning, and further reducing the expense of deploying and operating a wireless network infrastructure. Recent discussions reveal that WiMAX femtocells can be even more strategic when deployed by cable broadband providers investing in the Clearwire network. This session explores the role of femtocells in a homogenous end-to-end WiMAX network architecture network infrastructure that can leverage uniform management, security, QoS, provisioning, and billing. |

As wireless and mobile broadband networks are deployed around the world, subscribers are likely to expect interoperable services across countries, operators and devices. The use of WiMAX Forum certified equipment will assure some level of interoperability, and work has begun to support global roaming services as the marketplace demands. Other vendors have developed specialized software solutions to ensure interoperable services across multiple frequency bands and protocols. This session will review the best practices and solutions that can address the need for global roaming and service interoperability. |

Backhaul is the lifeblood of WiMAX and other mobile broadband networks, as performance and congestion can be directly related to the capacity of backhaul links. Operators are utilizing a wide range of technologies to backhaul traffic from WiMAX base stations, including optical fiber, carrier Ethernet, microwave and other wireless service solutions. This session explores the increased need for backhaul in mobile broadband networks from the perspective of network operators and suppliers. |
