Drug & Biologics Japan

Drug & Biologics Japan(日本生物制剂学会)

Sheraton Miyako Hotel

Strengthen your Pipeline with New Opportunities in Open Innovation, Next Generation Biologics, Personalized Medicine, Stem Cells and Targeted Cancer Therapies

The Drug & Biologics Japan event aims to address the changing paradigms in Japan's pharmaceutical industry - shifting from small molecules to antibody/protein science and stem cells, from traditional drug discovery to molecularly targeted therapies and personalized medicine strategies. You will hear from over 50 speakers from 10 countries, including USA, UK, Japan, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Australia, Israel, China and India, who will share their current strategies, ongoing developments and proven successes.

Network with over 50 speakers and get first-hand information on:

  • Transforming ideas into innovation and bridge the gap between inspiration and implementation
  • Alternative scaffolds, conjugates or bispecific antibodies - How you can leapfrog into the current developments
  • Personalized medicine, pharmacogenomics, biomarkers and diagnostics - Overcoming challenges to implementation
  • Science, technology and therapeutic applications of iPS cells, ES cells and adult stem cells - Industry-academia collaborations to bring therapies faster-to-market
  • Targeting ARQ197, CICs, P2X7 and other novel molecular targets - Working to towards a breakthrough in cancer therapeutics

Open Innovation
Governments in various parts of the world are actively supporting innovation - more specifically, Open Innovation. It has become increasingly necessary for inventors and their firms to exploit information and capabilities outside the firm in order to combine one's own resources with resources from the external environment. This session will explore how "open innovation" is influencing Japanese pharma and healthcare industry to modify their innovation strategies to enhance their creativity and productivity.

Next Generation Biologics
Covering topics on ADC, alternative scaffolds, bispecific and multispecific antibodies, immunogenicity, preclinical and clinical development updates, the session offers insights into the current stateof- the-art developments in next generation biologics from around the world. Japanese pharmaceutical and biotech companies already in the space or planning to enter the space cannot afford to miss this session.

Stem Cells
Stem cells is one of the fastest growing areas of research throughout the world, and Japan is ranked among the top research centers for stem cell science and technology. This session will bring together experts from academia and industry to discuss the science and therapeutic applications of iPS cells, ES cells, mesenchymal stem cells etc.

Personalized Medicine & Biomarkers
Personalized medicine or "order-made medicine" as it is known in Japan, is a major initiative not only by the Japanese government but also throughout the world's pharmaceutical industry. In this session, we will hear from leading pharmaceutical companies like Wyeth and AstraZeneca on how they are incorporating personalized medicine and biomarkers in their drug development strategies.

Molecularly Targeted Cancer Therapies
A new frontier in cancer drug development has emerged - where scientists are now focusing on developing drugs that target the molecular alterations involved in the biological pathways in cancer. Hear from Kyowa Hakko Kirin, Daiichi Sankyo, RIKEN, BioSceptre and ArQule as they present their latest therapeutic developments that aim to block the growth and spread of cancer by interfering with specific molecules involved in tumor growth and progression.
