Abstract
Among 69 new LCD TV panels on display at FPD International 2006 held in Yokohama, Japan, 55% were sized 32-, 37-, 42-, or 47-inch, with 50-inch and larger panels accounting for another 17.4%. These figures reflect the aggressive development of larger sized LCD TV panels by panel makers. Improvements in LCD TV panel features have focused on providing faster response time, wider viewing angle, higher brightness, higher contrast and higher resolution. This report will provide in-depth analysis of the specifications of the new LCD TV panels that were on display -including panel size, resolution, and display features -and further discussion of LCD TV panel strategies adopted by the leading display panel makers'
