Abstract
This IDC study discusses Sun' s family of midrange and enterprise StorageTek products, the StorageTek 6130/6320/6920 and the enterprise StorageTek 9900 family, and provides a residual value forecast for each. Sun has significantly expanded its storage offerings since our last study, with the introduction of a two new midrange products and new high-end system from Hitachi Data Systems (HDS). When these new offerings are combined with its StorageTek Workgroup 3000 products, Sun has as complete a set of storage offerings as any of its competitors.
"Sun' s StorageTek midrange and enterprise product families are a focused set of product offerings that will provide the company' s base with attractive offerings for all market segments," said William Roch, research director for IDC' s Leasing and Pricing Evaluation Services.
