Abstract
Research was carried out on the automation and control solutions in the pulp and paper industry of South Africa. A comprehensive analysis was established for all the pulp and paper manufacturing processes allowing for an accurate evaluation of the factors impacting on the pulp and paper industry. Market sizes of different automation and control solutions sub sectors were calculated for 2007 and forecasts determined for the period 2007 to 2014. In addition, market dynamics, such as drivers and restraints were also identified.
