- Delivers a comprehensive comparison of voice/data convergence vendors in terms of their technology offerings, user sentiment and market impact.
- Presents a detailed view of each vendor' s voice/data convergence capabilities, as well as providing advice on the suitability of these offerings.
- Includes an assessment of: Alcatel-Lucent, Avaya, Cisco, Ericsson, Interactive Intelligence, NEC, Nortel, ShoreTel, Siemens Enterprise, Teleware.
Highlights
Demand is increasing for a better range of features for the unified communications aspect of voice/data convergence due to changing workforce patterns and staff becoming more mobile. At the same time IP telephony solutions continue to mature and vendors are now offering a variety of IP PBX based solutions.
Adoption of voice/data convergence is increasing, albeit gradually, and traditional telephony and TDM PBXs are slowly being phased out. Datamonitor' s Technology Trends survey shows that 60% of the 1,000 enterprises interviewed in 2007 have deployed some form of IP telephony, with 40% having an IP PBX in place.
Although there has been much consolidation in the voice/data convergence market, there is still room for innovation and non-traditional communications vendors to play a part in any developments. Both IBM and Microsoft have entered the market and are likely to pose a threat to the other vendors with their unified communications solutions.
Reasons to Purchase
- Gain detailed knowledge of the leading voice/data convergence vendors' strengths with regards to their technology, user sentiment and market impact.
- Voice/data convergence vendors can benchmark their own performance in various key criteria against their competitors.
- Enterprise IT managers will gain valuable insight to improve their voice/data convergence purchasing decisions.
